How Do I Uninstall Green Antivirus?

Green Antivirus is one of the most harmful tools that can infect your PC. It may appear to be professional on the outside, but inside, it's one of the biggest viruses going. If you know this already, you may have come across the next hurdle - removing the thing. This is a big problem because it doesn't come with any uninstall feature, leaving you in the dark without any way to remove it... until now.

The problem with Green Antivirus is that it doesn't come with any sort of uninstaller program. This means that if you want to rid it from your PC, you will have to manually remove it, the way that computer technicians do. This shouldn't be too much of an issue, because you can easily emulate what the uninstall feature of a program does, just by doing two simple steps.

Uninstall facilities that come with programs actually work by deleting the files that make the program work (known as the program files) and then remove the "links" the program has with Windows, by removing its "registry keys". This is basically what uninstall features do with programs, just in an automated way. So to uninstall Green Antivirus, you just need to be able to do the following:

1. Remove its program files

Green Antivirus is just like any other computer software - it has to have program files to make it work.  Program files are like the motor of a car and if you remove them, your software will simply be unable to work. To remove the Green Antivirus files, you just need to head to C:/Program Files/gav/, select the entire folder and then press SHIFT  + DELETE. This will permanently delete the files that power Green Antivirus, meaning that it will not be able to function ever again on your computer.

2. Remove its registry links

After you've stopped the program from working, you then just need to go into the registry database and remove all the "links" that Green Antivirus has with Windows. These links show your computer all sorts of information about the software, and need to be removed. To do this, you just need to search for REGEDIT.EXE and then open it up. Once the registry editor is open, you just need to be able to press CRTL+F and then search for Green Antivirus. This will bring up all the keys that link the software with Windows, allowing you to delete them all and make Windows "forget" it was ever installed.

Although this method is pretty straightforward, it's also risky. The registry is a very delicate part of Windows and deleting the wrong key can cause all sorts of problems for your computer. A much safer and easier way to uninstall Green Antivirus is to use an uninstaller program to do it safely for you.
